Barnatron is a Pharmaceutical company which was authorised in June 2001 by the Spanish Medicines Agency to carry out the activities of Licence holder, Distributor and Manufacturer of Radiopharmaceutical products.
Barnatron personnel are made up of Radiopharmacy specialists, technicians who are experts in the handling of high-tech equipment such as cyclotrons and automated equipment.
Barnatron produces and markets around 1,200 doses monthly of the active substance [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose in the pharmaceutical products Fluorscan 1700 MBq/ml, Fluorscan 3000 MBq/ml and Barnascan 3000 MBq/ml, solutions for injection. Barnatron regularly distributes these doses in
Barnatron participates in basic research with the Experimental Molecular Imaging Centre (CIME) in the design, development and production of new radiopharmaceuticals for administration in small animals, performing the examination with the PET/CT camera located in the centre.
